Central Corfu Municipality collecting basic necessities for flood victims

CORFU. The goods are being collected at the office of the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare, Andreas Skoupouras, on the ground floor of the former Prefecture (opposite Municipal Theatre).

(Central Corfu Municipality) The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality is collecting basic necessities in aid of our fellow citizens who have been affected by the devastating floods that have swept through many areas of our country.

In this tragic situation experienced by our fellow human beings, the Central Corfu Municipality is standing close to help those in need, initiating a comprehensive relief effort by calling on individuals and businesses to join hands in providing vital support to those affected by the floods.

The items being collected are:

  • Bottled water

  • Packaged, non-perishable, long-lasting food items ready for consumption (canned goods, milk, cereals, baby food, etc.)

  • Blankets and beddings, pillows, sleeping bags (packaged)

  • Power banks and torches

The Central Corfu Mayor, Meropi Ydraiou, stated: "In times of crisis, we are all united. Corfu, the island of compassion and solidarity, once again shows its positive side through the support it provides to our fellow citizens in need. Together, we are making a difference once again."

The goods are being collected at the office of the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare, Andreas Skoupouras, on the ground floor of the former Prefecture (opposite Municipal Theatre), on the following days and hours:

  • Today, Friday, 8/9: until 5 p.m.
  • Tomorrow, Saturday: from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Monday, 11/9, until Wednesday, 13/9: from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
