Meropi Ydraiou injured in road accident

The accident happened just before midday on Sunday near Kompitsi. Ms Ydraiou was driving – with no passengers, fortunately – out of town to an event organized by the Kalafationes Cultural Society. From her hospital bed, Ms Ydraiou described to Enimerosi how the accident happened. A car was travelling in the opposite direction, towards town, in the wrong lane and crashed head-on with Ms Ydraiou’s vehicle.

Fortunately, both Ms Ydraiou and the driver of the other car were removed from their vehicles and taken immediately to Corfu General Hospital, where they were declared not to be in any danger. The mayor contacted the leader of the local party Kerkyraion Dimos to get an update on her condition and to wish her well.
