Where the ‘Blessing the Water’ ceremonies will be happening tomorrow in town and around Corfu

CORFU. For the Epiphany tomorrow, 6th January, the ‘Blessing the Water’ ceremony will take place in town at the Old Port by the Café Yiali at 12 midday.
Following the service at the Metropolitan Church, the traditional ceremony of diving into the water to retrieve the Blessed Cross will be conducted by the Archbishop of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Nektarios.
In Potamos, the diving ceremony will be held at Potamos bridge following the church service and short parade.
Similar ceremonies will take place at all the coastal parishes in Corfu shortly after 11am, following the church services. At Gouvia Marina at the Church of Ipapantis (Kommeno), Palaiokastritsa (Alipa), Benitses, Kassiopi, Acharavi, Lefkimmi port and in general all the parishes by the sea.
On the day of Epiphany, the blessing ceremony takes place at every church which conducts baptisms in a font.
