Preparing for next week’s earthquake exercise

The purpose of Thursday’s exercise is to be prepared for an earthquake in terms of coordination, organization, collaboration and the improvement of planning for the reality. Its aim is to acquire knowledge and experience so that emergency procedures can be as efficient as possible.

The pan-Ionian exercise, called ‘Alcinous 2017’, is taking place on Thursday 14 December, 09:30-13:30 and is being organized by the Region of Ionian Islands with the Ant-Seismic Planning and Protection Organization (OASP).

It is part of the efforts to improve the operation of the Civil Protection – Emergency Needs & Readiness department in terms of organization and collaboration between responsible bodies.
