Strong earthquake hits Epirus, tremors felt in Corfu

CORFU. The tremor seemed prolonged, and smaller aftershocks followed.
A seismic tremor that was particularly noticeable in Corfu occurred at 5:32 a.m. local time, in the early hours of Sunday. Its epicentre was 12 km east of Leptokaria in Thesprotia, at a depth of 12 km, and it was initially measured at magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale.
The shaking felt prolonged, and smaller seismic tremors followed.
