(Central Corfu Municipality) A significant initiative aimed at saving human lives is currently underway in the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, where on October 29, the installation of twenty digital external defibrillators began, under the supervision of the Directorate of Social Protection, Education, Culture, and Sports.
The defibrillators are being installed at key points throughout the Municipality, which were suggested by the local communities themselves, with the goal of ensuring easy access in case of an emergency. This initiative forms part of a broader effort to promote prevention and public health protection, offering a valuable tool both to residents and to visitors of the island.

In the second phase, the Municipality will proceed with training volunteers in the use of the defibrillators, in collaboration with the local communities. The goal is to create a network of trained residents, ready to respond effectively in critical situations, thereby strengthening the sense of safety in every corner of the Municipality.
