Air-conditioned space available for homeless
CORFU. During the period of the heatwave 12-14 August.
The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands is providing an air-conditioned space at the Municipal Theatre to protect vulnerable groups from high temperatures.
The air-conditioned space will be available and accessible from 09:00 to 20:00 for the period from 12 to 14 August.
Additionally, an air-conditioned space at the Day Care Centre for the Homeless will be open from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for the homeless (information phone: 26610 81855).
Information on the possibility of using the space is available at the following telephone number: 26613 62124, on working days from 08:00 to 14:30.
This action is being implemented as part of our Municipality’s social policy and public health protection measures in cases of significant increases in temperature, in accordance with the guidelines of the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Poverty Alleviation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in order to prevent homeless people from being exposed to risk due to the upcoming heatwave.
