Central Corfu Municipality: "No permission was given for what happened at the Old Palace colonnade"

CORFU. The Municipality, together with the Head of the Corfu Ephorate of Antiquities and the Director of the Museum of Asian Art, filed a lawsuit against all responsible parties.

The Municipality of Central Corfu issued a statement following the incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, May 23rd, at the Old Palace colonnade, according to which it has filed a lawsuit together with the Museum of Asian Art against all responsible parties. The announcement states:

“Regarding the incident that was recorded after midnight from Thursday, May 22nd to Friday, May 23rd, the following clarifications are provided:

The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands did not grant any permission for the incident in question, nor was such permission requested.

On the contrary, we strongly condemn the actions carried out by individuals unknown to us in the exterior area of the Municipal Art Gallery.

The Municipality, together with the Head of the Corfu Ephorate of Antiquities and the Director of the Museum of Asian Art, has filed a lawsuit against all responsible parties.

Additionally, it has made available to the Authorities the existing video footage recorded by the security cameras of the Municipal Art Gallery.”
