΄Mantzaros΄ Philharmonic Band general rehearsal of mournful marches on Holy Thursday
CORFU. During the rehearsal, all the masterful mournful marches that the Mantzaros Philharmonic Band traditionally plays at Easter will be performed.
The musical ensemble of the 'Mantzaros' Philharmonic Society will hold its final rehearsal for the Good Friday processions and the Easter Saturday procession of Saint Spyridon at the Municipal Theatre, on Holy Thursday, April 17, at 8:30 p.m., under the direction of Chief Conductor Socrates Anthis and Assistant Conductor Spyros Rouvás.
During the rehearsal, all the masterful mournful marches that the Mantzaros Philharmonic Band traditionally performs during these Holy Days will be interpreted:
A/ Marcia Funebre by Giuseppe Verdi
B/ Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo
C/ La Madrugá by Abel Moreno Gómez
D/ The Kingdom of Pluto by D. Andronis
E/ Calde Lacrime by Cesare de Michelis
