CORFU. These traps are set by individuals because South Corfu has been overrun by wild boars that swim over from Thesprotia.

An illegal iron hunting trap (for wild boars) was found in South Corfu in recent days, following a complaint from a hunter received by the Federal Gamekeeper when the hunter's dog got caught in one of them. According to the Federal Gamekeeper,, Spyros Mitsoulis, these traps are set by individuals because the South Corfu has been overrun by wild boars that swim over from Thesprotia. These animals roam fields, destroying them, and are also on the roads at night, posing a serious risk of accidents.

The area was monitored by the authorities for three days, with no one approaching it.

After the three days, the trap was confiscated, and the case is under investigation.
