CORFU. 268 of the offences were in Corfu.
Traffic Police carried out checks between 2/2 and 8/2 in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada.
1,836 vehicles were checked
577 offences were confirmed (268 in Corfu, 116 in Zakynthos, 99 in Cephalonia and 94 in Lefkada).
These included the following:
- 152 for illegal parking
- 113 for speeding
- 43 for not using helmets
- 36 for driving without a licence
- 26 for MOT violations
- 20 for not using seat belts
- 14 for driving on the wrong side of the road
- 11 for driving without insurance
- 9 for noise above the permitted level
- 8 for driving under the influence
- 5 for using a mobile phone whilst driving
