CORFU. The hunting dog was out hunting with its owner.
The Fire Department received a call on Saturday morning, January 18, about a dog that had fallen into a well in Skripero.
One fire engine with four firefighters immediately rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the dog, having apparently grown exhausted from swimming for a long time in the freezing water, did not survive and was retrieved lifeless by the firefighters.
It was a hunting dog that had been in the area with its owner for a hunt.
According to reports, the well was covered with grass and was not visible, and was relatively new.
The police were notified of the incident, and a team from the Paleokastritsa Police Station arrived at the scene to clarify the exact circumstances.
