CORFU. The St. Spyridon procession took place in Corfu Town this morning.

The Saint Spyridon Church Epitaphios procession took place in Corfu Town on Easter Saturday morning - the only Epitaphios which takes place on Easter Saturday.

A crowd of people watched the procession, while the local political leadership followed the procession. Along with the Members of Parliament, the president of the national SYRIZA party, Stefanos Kasselakis, was also present.

The procession was accompanied by the town's three Philharmonic Society Bands, which played mournful music.
