Resurrection in Corfu - Christ is Risen!

Spianada square was flooded with thousands of people, celebrating together the Resurrection of Christ.

From the bandstand of the Upper Square, the Archbishop of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontia Islands, Nektarios, delivered the joyful message of the Resurrection.

When 'Christ is Risen' was heard, the Corfu sky filled with colours from the fireworks - a spectacle that left people of all ages gazing in awe, as they exchanged wishes with their loved ones.

Holding candles lit with the Holy Light, which had arrived earlier on the island, the spectators created a mystical atmosphere, accompanied by the local philharmonic bands playing festive melodies.
