CORFU. "The island of Corfu constitutes a unified tourist destination, with an established brand name, common challenges in terms of management and sustainability, as well as shared goals."

A working meeting was held today at the Old Town Hall, with the elected officials responsible for tourism from the three municipalities of the island: Spyros Halikiopoulos, Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Deputy Mayor for Sustainable Tourism Development; Nikos Hirdaris, North Corfu Deputy Mayor for Tourism and A. Skolarikis, South Corfu Appointed Tourism Advisor.

The meeting took place within the framework of the joint recognition that Corfu constitutes a unified tourist destination, with an established brand name, common challenges in management and sustainability, as well as shared goals. The three elected officials collaborated to create a framework for joint action, in an excellent atmosphere with mutual understanding for their main objectives.

Among the results of this first working meeting is the initial willingness to combine resources and actions, as well as the understanding that the management of Corfu, as a unified destination, requires close collaboration and joint planning by all involved parties.

In this context, a timetable was developed for the upcoming period to initiate the implementation of actions as soon as possible.
