Medical Association warns about public health consequences of rubbish in South Corfu
CORFU. "It is determined to use all legal means in order to protect the health of citizens."
The Corfu Medical Association expressed its deep concern about the consequences on public health from the prolonged and uncontrolled dumping of large amounts of waste on the roads of South Corfu Municipality.
The uncontrolled accumulation of tons of rubbish in public areas creates a dangerous environment for public health despite the fact that waste collection has started, as it is taking place very slowly.
With the existing public health problem and the continuous degradation of the environment, the Corfu Medical Association is determined to use all legal means to protect the health of citizens. It also draws attention to the competent bodies, in order to avoid similar situations in the future.
