Memorandum of cooperation for digital transformation of Central Corfu Municipality
CORFU. The purpose of the memorandum is to enhance innovation, accelerate digital transformation and strengthen digital skills.
(Central Corfu Municipality) The digital transformation of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality is the subject of the memorandum signed on Tuesday in Thessaloniki by Mayor Meropi Ydrayou and the representative of the International Centre for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills (DT&S-CISCO). The Mayor travelled to Thessaloniki, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor for European Programmes, Panayiota Tzanne.
The Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands Municipality is among the first 10 municipalities in Greece to secure this collaboration.
The purpose of the memorandum is to enhance innovation, accelerate digital transformation and strengthen digital skills. DT&S is committed to providing the Municipality with strategic information and communication technology advisory services for the following:
- Digital transformation (smart cities, e-health, cyber security, energy management development, Internet of Items and environmental protection).
- Solutions for Smart Cities (Collaboration between DT&S and the Municipality on a project focused on "smart city" solutions, such as the use of modern network solutions, 5G, etc.).
- Business IT and communication capabilities (Developing plans for the Municipality's use of Cisco's networking programme materials to enhance the digital skills of the municipality's population).
The International Centre for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills was established in June 2020 by Cisco in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Ministry of Development and Investments, under the auspices of the Prime Minister's Office in Thessaloniki.
