Potamos parents protest at Town Hall about transfer of school security guard
CORFU. The parents intend to protest to Mayor Meropi Ydraiou.
Parents From Potamos Primary and Nursery Schools gathered at Maraslio Town Hall this morning with the aim of protesting to the Municipal Authority about the sudden relocation of the school guard. The protest also includes the president of the teachers' union SEPE, Antonis Koursaris and Niki Diamantopoulou, a member of the Board of Directors of ELME.
A few days ago, the parents had a meeting with the Councillor responsible for Education, Maria Zervou, during which they expressed their strong opposition to this development and highlighted all the risks it entails. The parents consider the solution proposed by the Municipality for hiring a road crossing patrol person to be "outrageous, if not absurd," as the they would only be present for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.
