Athinagorio School celebrates National School Sports Day
CORFU. Pupils at the 4th Experimental Primary School took part in activities in Garitsa and Anemomylos parks.
Athinagorio 4th Experimental Primary School successfully organised a special event on the occasion of the 10th National School Sports Day on Friday 29 September..
The activities, which took place in Anemomylos and Garitsa parks, aimed to highlight the fundamental importance of physical exercise and sports for the health and well-being of the entire world.
The school participated in the symbolic nationwide school relay race, which, apart from its athletic dimension, highlighted the values of a new way of life, which need to be achieved through effort, goal orientation and moral integrity.
There were numerous sporting activities, both team and individual sports, including basketball, cricket, boules (petanque) and soccer.
All these activities succeeded in creating bonds among the children, providing them with opportunities for play, laughter, cooperation and experiences for a new way of life. At the same time, the young pupils conveyed and created messages about collaboration, a good quality of life, support for people with disabilities and the Paralympic Games, among other things.
Finally, it is worth noting that through play and sports activities, systematic engagement in sports, personal choices, talents and the children's preferences for incorporating sports into their daily lives, as well as through the school environment, our children benefit from the beneficial impact of sports on their lives.
