CORFU. The company is putting pressure just before the beginning of the tourist season - The issue will be taken up by lawyers.

The company that has leased the Alipa Marina is putting pressure on the Municipality and professionals with its new demand for an additional €5 per customer of the tourist boats.

The company's representative met today with the Deputy Mayor for Tourism Panos Varouchas and did not change his mind regarding the issue of the unbearable financial demand they made without warning, even though in November they had assured that everything will run smoothly this year.

It is worth noting that he did not attend the scheduled meeting at the Town Hall yesterday due to the crowd of protesting professionals.

Mr. Varouchas informed him of the professionals' complaint and pointed out that such charges are not provided for by the terms of the contract signed between them, with the company claiming that its legal advisors think otherwise.

Inevitably, the lawyers will take over the issue. The investor's move, however, to make these demands just before the beginning of the season is blackmailing both the professionals and the Municipality, as any legal action will be time-consuming, just as the tourist boats are preparing to start working.
