CORFU. The region will be included in the NTGO stand at the World Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin.
The world's biggest tourism trade fair, ITB Berlin, will be held again this year following the pandemic. The dates this year are 7-9 March and the exhibition is exclusively for businesses and not the general public.
10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries will be taking part in a space of 160,000 sq.m. Travel agencies, hotels, national tourism organisations, regions and other travel businesses will come together to meet, establish relationships, buy and sell holiday and leisure services and promote travel experiences and destinations.
The Ionian Islands Regional Administration will be taking part with Governor Rodi Kratsa as part of the Greek National Tourist Organisation stand in order to meet with travel businesses and organisations and airlines to promote the tourist destinations here. The local municipalities will also have a presence there to give them the opportunity to meet tourist businesses.
"We want to promote our competitiveness and advantages in order to inspire them to visit our islands," said the Regional Governor.
There will be a series of discussions, panels and round table meetings as part of the ITB World Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin focussed on the development of the tourism market and innovation.
