Distribution of food and basic necessities to those eligible begins on Wednesday

CORFU. Approximately 950 people eligible for the Food Aid Programme will start receiving packages from Wednesday.

The Food and Basic Necessities Aid Programme is part of the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD).

The Ionian Islands Regional Administration will be implementing the above programme. There are approximately 1,900 eligible for the aid in the Ionian Islands including approximately 950 in Corfu and Paxos.

The food and basic necessities will be distributed from a warehouse on Eth. Pelekas Rd. (Spiggos Quality Fruit, 3km Eth. Pelekas Rd in Mamali Alepou) at the following times:

Wednesday 18/1: 10:00-15:00
Thursday 19/1: 08:30-15:00
Friday 20/1: 08:30-15:00

Fresh and dried food will be distributed as well as basic necessities.

Please note, those coming to pick up packages must observe the following:

- Masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
- ID or AMKA number is needed or an authorisation if someone can't come in person.
