CORFU. The inmate sent a message full of kindness and love for the world.
A Russian inmate - a student at Corfu Prison School - wrote a special message in perfect Greek specially for the school's Christmas celebration. He sent a message full of kindness and love for the world, which would perhaps not normally be expected from someone behind bars.
In their difficult conditions, the inmates have the good fortune to have the support of the teachers and friends of the Corfu Prison School who do a tremendous job cultivating trust and hope. The work done at the school has also gained the support of various bodies in the local community.

One of the cards was given with gratitude to the writer and poet Katina Vlachou, who is President of the Association of Friends of Corfu Prison School.
"The 22-yearold inmate and student wrote two thank you cards for two of the people who were at the Christmas celebration," said Ms. Vlachou. "I was one of them. It has been signed by Dimitris, aged 22, from Russia. I am sharing it with you and wish Dimitris all the very best!"
