Four arrests in Corfu on Thursday night including for playing music outwith times allowed

CORFU. Four people were arrested in Corfu on Thursday night during police checks.
The one arrest was for playing music outwith the times allowed. The other three were for possession of a small amount of cocaine, illegal residence and a catering establishment without a valid employee health certificate.
Between 18:00 on 29 December and 02:00 on 30 December police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks for the following:
489 vehicles and 568 individuals were checked, leading to 17 arrests - 4 in Corfu, 9 in Zakynthos and 4 in Cephalonia;
There were 154 driving offences, including the following:
- 3 driving under the influence
- 29 speeding
- 13 not wearing crash helmet
- 11 not wearing seat belts
- 2 using mobile phone whilst driving
- 11 without driving licences
- 2 with uninsured vehicles
- 3 without MOT
- 2 driving on wrong side of road
- 2 with worn tyres
28 vehicles were immobilised for driving without a licence, driving under the influence, not wearing crash helmets, having worn tyres and being without MOT.
There were also 12 offences of smoking in no smoking areas.

- Dangerous driving
- Violations of regulations at catering establishments
- Drug dealing
