CORFU. It ensures that no germs will be transferred and spread to the rest of the hospital.

The creation of a new negative pressure room in Corfu Hospital's Infectious Diseases Unit was completed.

The abovementioned project with a €58,000 budget was integrated and implemented through the cross-border Interreg V/A Greece-Italy (EL-IT) 2014-2020 Programme, in which the Corfu Hospital participates as a partner.

The Corfu Hospital Director Leonidas Roubatis said that the creation of the new negative pressure room in the Infectious Diseases Unit will make the hospital safer for patients through the creation of two independent rooms and the use of the special air conditioning unit it has, as negative pressure is achieved in the hospital ward, resulting in no air flow and thus ensuring that no germs will be transferred and spread to the rest of the hospital.

He also thanked all the officials of the programme and the Corfu Hospital, who helped in the immediate implementation of the project and promised to implement even more projects that will improve the hospital's infrastructure and the quality of health services provided to citizens.
