CORFU. The first film to be produced in Greece using sustainable working practices - The director Daphne Schmon is an American-Greek with Corfu heritage.

Filming for The Eye - the first film to be produced in Greece using sustainable working practices– has begun in Corfu and will showcase best practices in environmental protection in the world of filming.

The director Daphne Schmon is an American-Greek with Corfu heritage – from Karousades and the producer is award-winning Melanie Dicks. The film stars Shruti Haasan, a famous Indian actor and singer.

With the beginning of filming in Greece, the producers want to also begin a public awareness campaign regarding the reduction of pollution, water management, circular economy, reduction of carbon emissions and using sustainable working practices during the production of the film – from shooting to screening and beyond.

The production company Greenshoot is collaborating with Green Screen, a social project to reduce the environmental impact of film and TV productions (one of its projects was the well-known British series The Crown).

The line producer in Greece is Elena Priovolou from Argonauts Productions, who have produced award-winning films such the new film by David Cronenberg Crimes of the Future, which was filmed completely in Greece.
