Makeovers planned for 15 Central Corfu schools

CORFU. The first was at the 1st & 5th Junior High School.
Makeovers are planned for another 15 Central Corfu Municipality schools. The first has already been completed at the Corfu 1st & 5th Junior High School, which now has a modern basketball and volleyball court.
The photographs of the court show what an improvement has been made.
Local authority statement:
"The local authority under Meropi Ydraiou and the President of the Secondary Education Committee Kostas Kostalis are fulfilling their commitment to improve and upgrade school facilities.
Recently, all secondary school classrooms have obtained Wifi internet access, projectors and screens as well as computers in the staff offices.
The first makeover of school facilities has already been completed at Corfu 1st & 5th Junior High School, which now has a modern basketball and volleyball court.
This is just the start and makeovers are also planned at another 15 schools.
In his statement the President of the Secondary Education Committee Kostas Kostalis said, "We are fulfilling the commitment made by Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and the directions we have been given to make major improvements to our schools.
"We are providing equipment - all secondary school classrooms now have Wifi internet access and we are improving all the sports facilities and schoolyards.
"Plans are in place and we are working with the Municipal Technical Works Department to implement them immediately."
