CORFU. The Corfu Hospital Governor’s response to the information that is being generated about him being replaced.

"I have learned to always be in the front line of the ‘battle’", said the Corfu Hospital Governor Leonidas Roubatis, responding to the information being generated about him being replaced. He said that he is not afraid and does not owe any explanation to "those who had been trying to belittle and snub him for three years now".

In a post on social media, he stated the following:

"I respect the truth because I always strive for it... I don't care if there is a cost because when 'some people' were getting special purpose leaves and abandoning the National Health System, I was always in the front line of the 'battle'.

I have never given up in difficult times and I will not give up now either because I have learned to fight... I am leaving behind those who had been trying to belittle and snub me for three years now, I am not afraid of them and I do not owe them any explanation. I do not see the hospital as a shop, as a top official told us, but as my first home!

I was not appointed Director as a person with special needs, as they say - although I am ashamed that he is also a doctor - but for my knowledge and skills, which I do not negotiate with them. My degrees, my actions, my work and my contribution are all posted. That is the difference between us. Everything is out in the open!!!"
