CORFU. Checks being carried out by trade inspectors.
Corfu Trade Association has issued the following statement to shopkeepers:
"The summer sales period for 2022 is over and trade inspectors are checking to see if any shops still have sales signs up and are issuing fines if they are.
For this reason these signs must be taken down.
We would also like to inform you that there are no longer November and May sales - there are only winter sales (from the second Monday in January until 28 February) and summer sales (from the second Monday in July until 31 August).
During the rest of the year there can be special prices every ten days, which cannot be for more than 50% of the stock.
When there are special prices the signs must indicate which products they apply to and include both the original price and the reduced price."
