Quality of Life Committee decision on extension of music time limit

CORFU. Majority vote for the local authority proposal - How the parties voted.
The proposal of the Committee President Haris Yiotis regarding the extension of times allowed for music to be played at catering establishments in the Old Town passed by a majority vote at today's meeting of the Quality of Life Committee.
Haris Yiotis proposed that there should be an extension until 24:00 on Sunday and Thursday and until 00:30 on Friday and Saturday and the eves of public holidays.
The nine committee members voted as follows:
- Five for (Yiotis, Moraitis, Melidis, Tombrou and Tzanne from Ms. Ydraiou's party).
- Two against (Spyros Neratzis from Kerkyra Psilla and Tilemachos Vassilakis from Prota I Kerkyra).
- Two abstentions (Dimos and Agathos from Mr. Trepeklis' party).
The meeting took place at Mon Repos and was open so that anyone could observe.
The following presented their positions: Vassilakis and Latsas from the catering sector and representatives from the two Old Town associations - Permanent Residents and San Giacomo - as well as several old town residents.
The next and final stage will be the Central Corfu Municipal Council meeting on Wednesday 3 August.
