CORFU. It is unlikely that there will be a new decision on the times that music will be allowed before 15 August.
The issue of the times that music will be allowed will be discussed in a public discussion with all bodies before being introduced in the Quality of Life Committee, making the businesspeople even more worried regarding this matter.
Based on the procedures to be followed, in order for the decision to be taken not to be at risk of annulment or appeals, the scenario for the issue to finally be resolved at the meeting of the Central Corfu Municipal Council set for July 27 is starting to be rejected.
Today, an invitation was sent to the members of the Committee, setting the meeting for Tuesday 26 July at 18:30.
According to the law, the procedure is initiated within one week from the moment a request is sent to the President of the Municipal Council.
"Around 30 associations, unions and bodies will be invited to the public discussion in order to express their views based on the businesspeople and residents' demands. However, if not all are present, the public discussion will be held the next day with those present," the President of the Quality of Life Committee Theoharis Yiotis told Enimerosi.
He said that the views submitted will be considered by both the Quality of Life Committee and the Municipal Council.
He explained that the Quality of Life Committee will take action immediately after the meeting, in order to proceed with the necessary procedures, which had been very slow up to now.
However, it is unlikely that there will be a new decision on the times that music will be allowed before 15 August. This is because, in order for it to be valid, it will have to pass a legality check by the Decentralised Administration.
