CORFU. The plane had been helping to fight the big fire on Sazan Island in Albania.
Flights were delayed for around 40 minutes at Corfu Airport early this afternoon.
A Canadair CL-415 plane, which had been helping to fight the big fire on Sazan Island in Albania, landed at Corfu Airport for refuelling and burst a tyre. As a result, the runway had to be closed from 12:35 to 13:15.
At that time, four planes were apparently waiting to land and had to wait until the Canadair was removed from the runway before they could finally do so.
The Canadair CL-415 was still at the airport late in the afternoon.
