Seatrack system installed at NAOK and other beaches for those with special needs

CORFU. The systems that have been installed allow those with special needs to have access to beaches and the sea without assistance. In particular, a seatrack and an audio system have been installed at NAOK.

The Central Corfu Municipality installed three seatrack systems for those with special needs and an audio system for the visually challenged. On Friday afternoon, Mayor Meropi Ydraiou presented the plan implemented by the Municipality for the beach accessibility for those with special needs, on the occasion of the installation of one of these systems at NAOK.


 
The systems that have been installed allow those with special needs to have access to beaches and the sea without assistance. In particular, a seatrack and an audio system have been installed at NAOK. In the past few days, seatrack systems had been installed on the beaches of Dassia and Ipsos, while two more will be installed in June in Gouvia and Paleokastritsa.
 
In collaboration with the Corfu Regional Special Needs Association, 22 amphibious wheelchairs will be placed throughout Corfu and the Diapontia Islands. The Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and the Deputy Mayor for Social Policy Andreas Skoupouras presented today all the actions and the plan. The Deputy Mayor for Technical Works Nikos Kalogeros, the Councillor responsible for education Maria Zervou, as well as members of the NAOK Boards and the Corfu Regional Special Needs Association, attended the presentation.
 
The abovementioned initiatives are part of a plan implemented by the Municipality regarding beach accessibility for those with special needs.
