Collision of boats at NAOK
CORFU. No injuries were reported, and no marine pollution or water ingress was observed.
On Tuesday evening, August 20th, the anchor of a boat flying the Dutch flag, with two Dutch nationals on board, dragged at NAOK due to adverse weather conditions. As a result, the boat came into contact with an adjacent boat flying the French flag, with two German nationals on board. The collision caused minor material damage to the bow section of both vessels.
Corfu Central Port Authority prohibited the departure of both vessels until a seaworthiness certificate and confirmation of repair from the relevant classification society are provided. No injuries were reported, and no marine pollution or water ingress was observed as a result of the incident.
