Masks no longer mandatory - with some exceptions

ATHENS. They remain mandatory on public transport, in hospitals and care homes.

Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced that, from 1 June, masks will no longer be mandatory, with the eception of public transport, hospitals and care homes.

The Minister's statement:

"From 1 June until 15 September, masks will no longer be mandatory in all indoor and outdoor spaces and in means of transport with numbered seats.

The lifting of the measure also applies to those working in those places. Masks remain mandatory on public transport, in hospitals and in care homes.

There will be a decision shortly regarding ferries and schools.

However, we continue to recommend that masks continue to be worn in all these areas and especially by those in vulnerable groups."
