CORFU. Following interventions by a North Corfu DIADEYAK crew.
Acharavi, Loutses, Apraos, Kassiopi, Episkepsi, Lafki, Petalia, Perithia up to Roda and Sfakera will now have a smooth and proper water supply following the replacement of the water pumping station and cables in Agios Martinos, thanks to interventions by the North Corfu DIADEYAK on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April, as well as the continuous supervision and assistance of the Deputy Mayor for Everyday Life Nikos Mouzakitis and the assistance of Vassilis Salvanos.
The North Corfu Municipality said in an announcement that "this is the largest well in North Corfu, which is located 210 meters deep and will give 1800 m3 of water per day – an intervention that will improve the life quality of the residents of the abovementioned communities and settlements.
The North Corfu Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris thanked the citizens for their understanding and patience and stressed that sometimes it is not obvious how big the problem is. Citizens must understand that the network is old and therefore the damage is constant and serious. The North Corfu Municipality is doing its best to improve the situation in our Municipality on a daily basis, at all levels.
The aim of human resources in all municipal services is to serve the citizens and have them as a top priority. The Mayor also thanked the plumbers and technicians of the North Corfu DIADEYAK, who made a superhuman effort, working many hours until late in the afternoon to restore the water supply and, thus, thanked all employees of the North Corfu Municipality who also work like this.”
