DUBAI. The Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa is promoting the Ionian Islands in the United Arab Emirates.
Women from many European countries, as well as America, who live and work in the United Arab Emirates, responded to the Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa’s invitation to take part in an event to get to know each other, exchange views and promote the Ionian Islands.
The guests were women from the academic and business world, as well as diplomats, bloggers, journalists and representatives of international women's networks.
The Regional Governor briefly presented the Ionian Islands – their history, culture and nature, their dynamic and modern character in all sectors and the important roles women have – and invited those present to visit the Ionian Islands, either for holidays or to organise meetings of their networks.
Many aspects of reality and creativity in the Ionian Islands were presented through three videos, while the guests received perfumes as gifts produced by ‘Vassilakis’ from Corfu and ‘Razi’ from Zakynthos, which were kindly provided.
The event ended with a continuation of the discussion and Ionian-type delicacies in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa and her colleagues, accompanied by the Greek Embassy, will meet on Monday 14 March with officials at the Dubai Opera, one of the most modern operas in the world, to promote the philharmonic bands and choirs of Corfu and the other Ionian Islands.
