CORFU. The deadline for payment is Tuesday 15 March, otherwise the fine can be legally increased.
The time for unvaccinated Corfiots over 60 to pay the fines has arrived. The government is now putting into practice what it had announced for the citizens over 60 who did not get vaccinated until 17 January 2022. Thus, this morning, an unpleasant surprise awaited those who did not get vaccinated by now.
Since this morning, Corfu’s accounting offices are constantly receiving emails, informing that the fine notices for their unvaccinated customers over 60 have been posted on AADE.
15 March
As the Corfu Accountants Association President Philipos Korfiatis told Enimerosi, the administrative fine for January is €50, while the deadline for payment is Tuesday 15 March. “If the administrative fine is confirmed and not paid, it can be legally increased,” he said.
€100
It is worth noting that from next month the administrative fine will be €100 and will be imposed for as long as citizens over 60 remain unvaccinated. According to the relevant joint ministerial decision, the fine will not be imposed to those who were exempted for health reasons, those over 96 and those who have not been paying taxes for the last 3 years.
The list of those liable will be checked the first 15 days of every month, so that the citizens will be exempted from the fine or half of it will be imposed if they have been vaccinated with at least one shot until the abovementioned period.
