North Corfu Municipality and Corfu Social Welfare & Solidarity Association are happy to announce the creation of a nursery in Agios Georgios in North Corfu.
Statement from the local authority:
In line with its school plan and committment to support local families and mothers, North Corfu local authority in collaboration with Corfu Social Welfare & Solidarity Association and the particular interest of its President Maria Zervou, would like to make the following announcement, after our working meeting on Tuesday 1 February:
- The creation of a nursery in Agios Georgios with the capacity for 9 infants and 20 toddlers.
- The exxtension of the childcare centre in Kassiopi, increasing its capacity to 22 toddlers and the creation of an infants' section with a capacity of 9 infants.
- Improvement of the three existing childcare centres in the districts of Esperion, Kassiopi and Thinalia.
Both parties agreed that the aforementioned are significant steps for the care of the children and for the families and all residents in North Corfu Municipality. For a community to come alive, it needs to have children, bringing joy to everyone.
The following took part in the meeting: from North Corfu Municipality - Girogos Mahimaris, Mayor; Panayiotis Papadatos, President of Municipal Council and Municipal Education Committee; Hariton Koutsouris, Deputy Mayor and Spyridoula Kokkali, Deputy Mayor. From Corfu Social Welfare & Solidarity Association - Maria Zervou, President; Anastasia Andrioti, Director of Social Welfare and Maria Kyprioti, Administrative Director.
North Corfu Municipal engineer Giorgos Katsaros also took part.
