The new Covid measures for the hospitality and entertainment sectors in place from today

New measures are in place from today - special measures for New Year΄s Eve.
The Joint Ministerial Decision has now been published with the measures announced by Health Minister Thanos Plevris yesterday.
From this morning the following measures are in place:
- Restaurants, bars and entertainment venues must close at midnight. Music is banned. Seating has been restricted to six people per table. No standing customers allowed.
- On New Year’s Eve, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues can close at 2am. Music is banned. All the other restrictions apply.
- The use of high-protection FFP2/KN95 masks or double masks is required by catering employees and members of the public in supermarkets and public transport.
- High-protection or double masks are also recommended wherever there are large groups of people.
- Sports venues will be allowed to operate at only 10 percent capacity, with a cap on 1,000 spectators.
- There will be up to 50% teleworking in the public and private sectors and staggered shifts.
- Visitors to hospitals and nursing homes must provide a negative PCR test taken 48 hours ahead of visit.
Measures applicable to all activities
1. Use of masks
- In all indoor spaces including workplaces, with the exception of those working individually with no other people in the space.
- In all outdoor spaces unless otherwise stated in the specific protocols.
Those exempt from using masks:
- Those who cannot use them for medical reasons, with supporting documentation.
- Children younger than 4 years of age.
2. Adherence to 1.5m distance between people (1 person per 2 sq.m.) in indoor and outdoor spaces both for locations only for those fully vaccinated or recovered within the previous 3 months and 'mixed' locations.
3. Antiseptic for hands (over 70%) must be in place and used at venues.
4. Digital or printed signs must be clearly placed with the regulations in place at the specific venue or businessplace, including the number of people allowed.
5. Proper ventilation - natural or artificial.
