CORFU. More than 30 families are without heating in the council houses in Agios Ioannis that were handed over to those eligible a few months ago.
The tenants told ERT Corfu that the situation is intolerable and they call on those responsible to act immediately.

The council houses were handed over to the those eligible with a delay of 12 years and the Employment Minister Kostis Hatzidakis was present at the handing over ceremony. Residents are complaining that there has been a serious problem with the central heating burner in one of the buildings and it is not operating.

They have already contacted the contractor since September and he promised that the problem will be solved, but – as they say – nothing has been done yet. They also say that there are issues with rusty solar water heaters, flooded basements and water that is dripping from the roofs.
