From Wednesday 22 December, the self tests will be available for members of the public with their AMKA or Temporary AMKA.

According to the announcement from IDIKA (E-Governance in Social Health Insurance), "Self tests will be available from today, Wednesday 22 December at 08:00 until Friday 31 December at 20:00. Two self tests will be available for each person over the age of 5."

On Tuesday 21 December, the Prime Minister called on everyone to take a self test before they got together with family and friends over the festive season or went out for evening entertainment and to take the second one at the end of the year and just before the New Year in order to ensure that there are proper checks.

The government is also calling on the public to take extra self tests whenever necessary, such as if they are going to present at large gatherings.

The self tests will be available at pharmacies for members of the public with their AMKA or Temporary AMKA.

Strong recommendation to take self tests at festive gatherings

At yesterday's Cabinet meeting, the PM said that those who are vaccinated will not need to take rapid tests before entering indoor catering and entertainment venues. Nevertheless, he strongly recommended self tests for those going to venues with a large number of people.
