ATHENS. Chemotherapies, radiotherapies, artificial kidney unit treatments and other serious chronic illness treatments will continue as normal.
According to a circular sent by Deputy Health Minister Mina Gaga to all the Regional Health Authorities, scheduled regular operations at public and private hospitals are being cut.
Most hospitals, including Corfu, have been overwhelmed by Covid cases and the exhausted and limited personnel are finding it hard to cope with the pressure.
The circular from the Deputy Health Minister calls on hospital administrations and Regional Health Authorities to "cut scheduled regular operations by up to 80%".
This also includes private health facilities. It does not include emergency operations and specialist hospitals and chemotherapies, radiotherapies, artificial kidney unit treatments and other serious chronic illness treatments will continue as normal.
