A total of nine positive cases of Covid-19 were recorded at Corfu schools today, Thursday 4 November. According to the Ionian Islands Regional Education Department, five primary school pupils tested positive along with one teacher and three secondary school pupils.

Their classes are continuing as normal as the new protocol is that a class should close only if 50% plus 1 of the pupils have tested positive for Covid.

Only a limited number of cases has been recorded amongst students at the Ionian University, according to Dean Andreas Floros. He told Enimerosi that confirmed cases isolate according to the health protocol and that 75% of students have been vaccinated.

"The average number of cases per department is 3-4," he said. "The checks that are carried out at entrances are going well and there are no long queues with students waiting to show their vaccination or recovery certificates or rapid test results."
