High international flight arrival figures continue in September

CORFU. The high numbers continued in September according to the Civil Aviation Employees΄ Union President Dimitris Roussos.
There were 1,594 international commercial flights in September - a figure in line with what had been forecast and compared well with the high figure in August. The top ten countries were as follows:
UK - 446
Germany - 338
Italy - 126
Poland -125
France - 84
Czech Republic - 55
Austria - 47
Netherlands - 45
Belgium - 43
Russia - 34 (compared to 19 in August)
Flights from Germany and Poland were 80-90% full compared to 40-50% for UK flights. The number of passengers on flights from Italy and other countries has been decreasing and flights will soon be stopping or becoming much fewer. Flights from Germany and the UK will continue through October but there will be fewer and are scheduled to finish on 30 October.
It is estimated that the 1,594 flights in September brought 180k - 200k passengers, compared to 115k in September 2020 and 255k in September 2019.
