CORFU. On Wednesday 22 September, a team from North Corfu Municipality, led by Deputy Mayor Spyridoula Kokkali, handed over a second collection of donated goods.

North Corfu Municipality handed over a ton of donated goods - long-life foods, basic necessities, babyfood, medicines and pet food - to the Corfu branch of the Hellenic Red Cross.

The goods were accepted on behalf of the Red Cross by President Maria Dimouli and social worker Emilia Kosteletou. The North Corfu team included Civil Protection supervisor Giorgos Mavropoulos.

Members of the public of all ages, but especially the young, donated anonymously at the collection point at Acharavi Town Hall, and larger quantities were given by the local councils of Agios Panteleimonas and Sinies.

North Corfu Municipality thanks all those who responded and kindly offered help.

The Municipality is also continuing to make practical efforts to support citizens with financial difficulties and provide relief in whatever way it can.

Following a request from the 6th Health Region, it is participating in the programme of vaccinations at home, making a vehicle and driver available to take a doctor and nurse from Agios Athanasios Health Centre to homes with people who are bedridden or have mobility problems and wish to be vaccinated.
