ATHENS. Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias announced the new measures for those that haven΄t been vaccinated.

The Health Minister talked about a "pandemic of the unvaccinated" and said, "From the autumn each of us can be protected and protect others." He pointed out that over 90% of those hospitalised in ICUs for COVID are unvaccinated.

The measures for indoor spaces:

- Only those who have been vaccinated or have recovered from Covid will be allowed in all indoor spaces.
- Only those vaccinated will be allowed in sports facilities.
- Only those vaccinated or who have recovered will be allowed in indoor theatres, museums, archaeological sites and cinemas. Those who are unvaccinated can have a negative rapid test from up to 48 hours before. If these venues decide to allow only those vaccinated, however, they are allowed 100% capacity.
- Only those vaccinated or who have recovered will be allowed in indoor gyms plus those who have a negative rapid test from up to 48 hours before.
- In all indoor workspaces the employer has the right to know if employees are vaccinated or unvaccinated.
- Masks are mandatory everywhere - in indoor and outdoor spaces.

Tests for unvaccinated employees and students

The Minister said that vaccinations will also be mandatory for private doctors and pharmacists and said that there will be fines and penalties. Mr. Kikilias added that the measure will continue until 1 September to suspend health workers who haven't had at least one vaccination shot or don't have a recovery certificate.

From 13 September until March 2022 the following will apply:

- Unvaccinated employees will have to have a rapid test once a week at a private diagnostic centre at a cost of 10 Euros.
- Unvaccinated educators and those working in tourism, television and theatre will have to take two antigen tests at a private diagnostic centre at a cost of 10 Euros.
- Unvaccinated school pupils will have to do two self tests, which will be free. Unvaccinated students will have to do two rapid tests at a private diagnostic centre at a cost of 10 Euros.
- For air and sea travel - mandatory rapid tests for those aged 17 and over and self tests for those younger than 17. These again will be paid for by those taking the tests.

From 13 September, those working in the public sector who have been vaccinated or who have symptoms will be able to do free tests.
