LONDON. The UK government has announced the latest update for travellers.

The latest rules come into force at 4 a.m. on Sunday.

France has been moved from 'amber plus' to amber.

Despite concerns, Greece remains on the amber list, as does Spain, and fully-vaccinated returning travellers do not have to go into quarantine.

Those returning from Spain, in particular, are advised to take a PCR test - not antigen - as a precautionary measure against variants.

The following countries have been added to the green list - Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway.

India, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have been downgraded from the red to the amber list but Mexico, Georgia and the French overseas territories of La Reunion and Mayotte have been moved to the red list.
