CORFU. The Board of the Workers’ Union goes along with the decision of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers (POEDHN).

Board statement:

“We are in favour of the Covid-19 vaccination, but we are opposed to compulsion under the threat of suspension and dismissal.

Persuasion based on scientific criteria and the truth will be an incentive and not an
enforcement of disciplinary measures and dismissals.

We are opposed to any kind of division, threats, suspensions and dismissals.

Health workers have demonstrated their sense of responsibility, they are among the groups with the highest number of vaccinations and all colleagues, vaccinated and unvaccinated, adhere to the protective measures and do not place patients at risk.

The government, wishing to abdicate its own responsibility in managing the pandemic, is targeting workers, social groups and citizens, transforming its own responsibility into individual responsibility for the progress of vaccinations.

Mandatory vaccinations and compulsion violate constitutional freedoms and individual rights.

“Yes” to vaccination.

“No” to mandatory vaccination, disciplinary measures, suspensions and dismissals.”
