Three-day protest by hotel employees in Acharavi, Perivoli and Maraslio

CORFU. They are demanding re-employment, payment for the period of suspension and support measures.
The Hotel Employees' Union held protests on Monday at three large hotel units demanding the re-employment of their colleagues.
The union said that they will also be holding protest rallies on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8p.m. in Acharavi (Town Hall), Perivoli (ring-road) and Corfu Town (Maraslio Town Hall) respectively with the following demands:
- Safe return to work for everyone with all rights as regards working conditions and a wage based on the needs for a life with dignity
- Immediate payment for May - June suspensions
- Support measures for those working in the catering and tourism sectors
- Extension of the period of suspension until 31/10 for those employed by businesses that are closed
- Mandatory implementation of the sector's labour agreements
